ABOUT THE JOB:
This is an Accounting position responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the Inventory Control functions, which includes primarily field operations support. Understanding and applying the PO and Inventory process in real time to resolve errors quickly and accurately.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
- Daily review, processing and approvals of purchase orders for the consolidated organization
- Weekly review/analysis of purchase order activity for discrepancies and impacts to various inventory material types
- Work with field teams and field management to help identify, resolve variances, and potential variances, to achieve an accurate perpetual inventory count and protect company assets
- Work with procurement to analyze p-card activity
- Work daily to improve branch knowledge to proactively solve inventory issues by continual training and process improvement
- Review weekly inventory reports for possible errors and report information to management
- Ensure purchase order compliance is maintained throughout the month and troubleshoot as necessary.
- Report on daily KPI updates to accounting, finance, procurement and operations leadership
- Effectively work and communicate across multiple organizations and levels
- Support management in monthly & quarterly reviews
- Support periodic physical inventory count processes and controls
- Other duties, as assigned
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
- Bachelor/Associate's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field is preferred
Experience
- 1-2 years of procurement or cost accounting experience preferred, Accounting/Finance knowledge is preferred
- SAP experience is preferred
Professional Skills
- Strong PC skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Database concepts.
- Ability to follow basic accounting principles and relationship between the balance sheet and income statement
- Data analysis skills preferred
- Speak effectively before groups of colleagues or management of an organization.
- Must have exemplary listening skills to facilitate effective two-way communication.
- Solid problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
