An exciting opportunity has arisen in our EMEA Forensic & Litigation Consulting segment for a Senior Finance Manager. Working in a small team, this role supports one of the largest segments within FTI and requires someone who is fully qualified and possesses excellent management, communication and organizational skills. The role is based in our London office.
This role will be responsible for all financial and accounting matters for the FLC practice in EMEA and will assist senior leadership by overseeing all accounting operations, creating timely management reports to support the business, directing the billing and collection process, and managing projects and analysis to help provide commercial insights into the business.
This role will supervise a team comprising a Finance Manager responsible for revenue recognition DSO, WIP, AR and monthly processes, an assistant management accountant and an accounts admin assistant. This role will have dual reporting lines to the US based global FLC Finance lead and the EMEA Head of FLC as well as working to support business heads and partnering with the central EMEA finance team.
What You'll Do
- Manage all MI and reporting to the EMEA head of FLC, providing financial planning and analysis and experienced insights in to business financial performance
- Working with the Head of EMEA FLC to prepare strategic analyses for new business areas and geographies and generally supporting the strategic planning efforts
- Prepare monthly internal management reports for FLC EMEA stakeholders including variance analysis, narrative and discussion of results against budgets, forecasts and prior year
- Work with segment Finance Lead and central EMEA Finance team to establish and implement procedures and monitor compliance with accounting and internal control policies and procedures
- Co-ordinate with Finance Manager on revenue recognition
- Assist in team's management of DSO, AR, WIP, billings processes, realisation and bad debt adjustments and process improvements thereof
- Provide accurate summaries of financial performance for leadership's use in the formulation of strategy
- Assist with revenue attribution allocation processes if required
- Partner with business leads, US finance and operations to assist with annual P&L budget and quarterly forecasts for FLC across all EMEA territories and businesses
- Manage approvals of accounts payable invoices for coding to ledger
- Oversee time and invoice process for external consultants, including review of bespoke contracts, arranging approval and payment of invoices and oversee accurate billing to clients
- Work with internal and external auditors as necessary
- Manage and improve new client engagement process including preparation and/or management of LoE's post conflict submission including sign-off on terms and conditions affecting revenues as required
- Assist with interface between FLC practitioners and EMEA shared service finance team to facilitate issues or improvements related to invoice processing, payroll and other shared service functions
- Work with stakeholders to promote process improvements and automation related to financial systems
- Provide overall timely support to the Head of FLC EMEA and business leads in all Finance related matters in developing indicators and insight in to the practice's
Essential:
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CFA Qualification
- Minimum 10 years+ experience
- Experience with accounting/reporting across EMEA geographies
- Experience with month-end close process and working to tight month end deadlines
- Strong finance background and able to apply technical accounting concepts to practical situations
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong analytical and interpersonal skills
- Ability to assume full responsibility and accountability for assigned areas of responsibility
- Ability to multi-task and develop relationships with operations around the business
- Ability to work effectively in a high growth environment and rapidly changing orgnanisation
- Experience with financial and accounting systems and integrated data tools.
- Ability to interpret business needs, create standard and ad hoc reporting and analysis
- Highly detail oriented with a critical degree of accuracy
- Ability to work extended hours to meet deadlines when needed
- Experience of working in a professional services environment
- Experience of working in a matrix organisation with multiple stakeholders
- Knowledge of Elite and PowerBI desirable.
