Responsibilities
- Own, monitor and manage TPS HW/SW product developments within all BU's.
- Participate, own and/or lead continuous process improvement projects via the teams outlined initiatives.
Drive product requirements into the product during its lifecycle phase, ensuring we are building what the current business needs as outlined by the Market requirements. - Lead cross-functional teams within Topcon and prepare for production ramp and/or product transitions.
- Plan and execute development (NPI) builds and ensure these products transition to production within cost, quality and capacity parameters.
- Drive ramp readiness with internal teams as well as external partners (i.e. material availability, capacity readiness, transition plans).
- Experience in writing ECRs and ECOs as required in Arena or similar system.
- Must have a commitment to do everything possible to ensure the team's success, as well as the flexibility to quickly re-direct efforts based on new information.
- Coordinate with Engineering teams to ensure products are optimized for cost, manufacturability, testability, supply chain flexibility, and efficiency.
- Track program issues and effectively negotiate decisions and trade-offs. Guide issues to resolution within internal and external groups.
- Anticipate, identify and monitor program risks. Collaborate with engineering managers to control risk exposure by developing appropriate mitigation and contingency plans.
- Balance process compliance with achievement of business objectives to make the right strategic trade-off for the program.
- Document and communicate status, action items, issues and risks in a timely manner to key stake holders. Escalate critical issues to senior management when necessary.
- Demonstrated ability to be effective in a dynamic and energetic matrix organization with continuously changing program constraints.
- A self-directed individual with an ability to manage multiple priorities and objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to write concise, well summarized reports to senior management.
- Other tasks such as attending seminars (education), travel, demos and non-project meetings
Qualifications
- Bachelors in an ENG capacity or PMP preferred.
- 6+ years of experience in project management experience, managing electro-mechanical products, that contain HW/SW/FW developments.
- 5 Years experience in NPI Project Management, Supply Chain Management, Operations Program Management, Manufacturing or Operations Engineering.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Project.
- Experience with Program Lifecycle Management (PLM) processes.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Excel spreadsheets.
- Strong demonstrated commitment to teamwork and working with internal and external customers.
- Ability to lead cross functional matrix managed teams.
- Working Knowledge of Arena or similar documentation and change management system.
- Working knowledge of SAP of similar system.
