Summary
This position will support the quality of Topcon Positioning System Products and will ensure all quality deliverables are fully met during the product life cycle process.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate the APQP and PPAP activities related to a new product development program.
- Develop, in conjunction with cross-functional teams, processes to support OEM customers and lead the PPAP related activities to achieve PSW sign off in time.
- Participate in design reviews and new product qualification activities to ensure customer quality and reliability requirements are met.
- Analysis) and complete with functional teams PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) and Control Plans.
- Review prototype, pre-production, and production PFMEA and Control Plans including test plans, work instructions and make improvements recommendations.
- Work with all functional teams to continuously drive business processes efficiency and effectiveness.
- Partner with Failure Analysis engineers to perform Root Cause Analysis, track to closure al failures affecting OEM products, prepare and review 8D reports with OEM customers.
- Support monitoring and reporting of warranty commitment and claims resolutions, support OEM cross functional business reviews, and forecast risk/improvements impact of implementing solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in a technical field.
- Three to five years related experience in electronic manufacturing environment.
- Engineering or manufacturing background is highly desirable.
- Six Sigma green belt certification desirable
- Certified quality engineer is desirable..
- Strong knowledge and practical experience completing required elements of the APQP / PPAP process.
- Strong analytical skills with a working knowledge of statistical methods and the use of standard quality tools (e.g. FMEA, SPC, DOE, MSA, ANOVA, regression analysis, etc.).
- Demonstrated success in leading project teams and managing projects from initiation through completion.
- Good knowledge of ISO standards (9001, 14001, ISO/TS 16949) .
- Must be able to analyze and distill problems down to the root cause through effective communication, both internally and externally.
- Previous experience with an automotive OEM or Tier I supplier to automotive OEMs is highly desirable.
- Proficient in problem solving tools (8D methodology, 5 Whys, Ishikawa, etc.) to facilitate continuous improvement activities that positively impact external and internal customer satisfaction (DPPM, Warranty, Scrap, First Pass Yield, etc.).
- Good knowledge of manufacturing processes for electronic products.
