Job purpose:
To ensure the efficient running of the Topcon Service Function including repair and service of survey and laser products, training of Topcon dealer service centres and utilising all resources to provide our customers with a timely and high-quality service
Duties and responsibilities:
- Manage the service workload by using own skills but also utilising other Topcon service resources to minimise customer downtime
- Undertake the service, repair & calibration of Topcon Survey, Laser, Machine Control & UAV equipment.
- Liaise with customers as required, providing quotations for repair and service work as well as communicating order updates
- Organise and provide training to the Topcon dealer network for service of Topcon positioning instruments, either at the Tamworth Head Office or at dealer premises
- Deal with technical inquires and support from customers and dealer network
- Complete and control all relevant documentation including calibration certificates, calibration equipment records, manuals, service updates, etc...
- Provide quotes and invoices for repair and service work utilising Topcon's computer systems
- Work within the confines of the General Data Protection Regulations
- To comply with all relevant health and safety legislation.
- To maintain a good working relationship with other departments.
- To work within the procedures defined by the Company's Q.A. systems.
- To attend internal and external training courses as and when required.
- Assist in other areas of the company's operations (within capabilities) and other duties as required.
Persons specification:
- Previous experience of working as a Service Technician on Survey, Laser, Machine Control & UAV equipment, preferably with Topcon instruments.
- A methodical and logical approach to work.
- Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the principles and processes to providing first class customer services.
- Strong communication and coordination skills, enabling clear and accurate delivery of information to key stakeholders.
- Good organisation skills, with the ability to manage various deadlines and duties.
- Good problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and creative solutions.
- Good working knowledge of IT Systems
- Must have a can-do attitude
