Summary
Topcon is experiencing rapid growth and with commercial success comes increasing complexity across our Inventory enterprise. Our tools, methods, processes, and procedures need to be updated and scaled to support our growing business. This role will lead a Global Inventory Team focusing on Goals/Metrics and Reduction.
Responsibilities
- Oversees the development of division, department & class level inventory plans that support company strategy Own and driving division financials and inventory strategies (for all milestones) with team and cross-functional/cross-channel peers for Inventory and Materials health. Track progress and develop reports.
- Works closely with the internal Operations, Financial/Operations Analyst and Technology teams. Builds and develops relationships with operations business teams and information technology, ensuring that overall data proposition is relevant and aligns with overall business strategy.
- Develops, implements, and disseminates metrics/KPIs about inventory performance, profitability and outcomes including dashboards and data visualization toolsets, as well as sets global metrics for each subsidiary, monitor and provide detailed reports on progress.
- Lead and drive ongoing operations financial and strategic discussions relating to global Inventory and take action quickly to maximize financial results, mitigate risks, and positively impact short- and long-term business results Provides guidance for team in prioritizing initiatives that maximize efforts and ties to key brand/division goals; removes roadblocks to support team.
- Accountable for career development, skill development, and leadership competency of teams to ensure job satisfaction, retention, and future talent development. Provides direction and leadership to deliver high-level analytics services based on scientific methodologies and tools.
- Analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns that drive proposed strategies that increase account liquidation, revenue, and efficiencies. Provides independent guidance, recommendations, and analytical data to discuss with the Executive team regularly.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 8-10 years' work experience in Inventory Management.
- Must come from a manufacturing environment.
- Strong track record of leading and developing a team.
- Financial and Business Acumen: Ability to evaluate financial and business indicators and translate data into actionable information to drive results; proficiency in retail math.
- Problem Solving & Decision Quality: Able to use rigorous logic and methods to solve problems with effective solutions.
- Influencing & Negotiation: Can present ideas and directions that lead others to action.
- Systems and Tools Acumen: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and have aptitude to learn technical applications quickly.
- Collaboration: Able to build constructive and effective relationships with a broad and diverse group of business partners.
- Possess strong organizational and time management skills.
- Demonstrate strong listening, written and oral communication skills.
- Developing Direct Reports & Motivating Others: Ability to hire, train, develop, and retain direct reports.
- Proficient in all MS Office applications including Word, Excel (strong Excel Knowledge) and Power Point.
- Experience in a variety of tools relevant to the discipline. SAP knowledge.
