About the Opportunity:
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Analyst to join our New York, NY office.
Prospective analysts will have the opportunity to work in a collegial environment with leading economists and industry experts on some of the most complex and high-profile issues affecting businesses and governments around the globe. Tackling these issues requires critical thinking and intellectual curiosity and prospective analysts can expect to develop statistical and valuation modeling techniques along with research and analysis skills. Team members are expected to demonstrate sound analytical judgment and are encouraged to take initiative with respect to recommending appropriate research and analyses. Prospective analysts are involved in nearly all aspects of project work, interacting closely with other analysts, economists and case supervisors in researching and analyzing data used to prepare pitches analyses, and expert reports. Prospective analysts can also expect to develop professional writing and presentation skills as they assist in the preparation of work product.
Responsibilities Include:
- Conducting quantitative financial analysis by identifying and analyzing relevant data, and utilizing statistical software and quantitative modeling techniques to test case theories and quantify economic benefit, harm, damages, and value etc.
- Conducting qualitative research by utilizing appropriate resources to identify, interpret, and present relevant information to team members for further use in the preparation of expert reports.
- Constructing demonstratives and exhibits to be used in expert reports and maintaining quality control to identify and eliminate potential pitfalls or errors.
- Creating, organizing and maintaining case specific documents and work product.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
- Ability to handle fast-paced office environment with multiple tasks and demands.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Programming Skills a plus.
- Basic knowledge of SAS or other statistical software a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics or Computer Science (or other fields requiring analytical and qualitative research).
- Experience conducting empirical research as part of a class assignment or thesis.
- Demonstrated quantitative analysis and qualitative research skills.
