Summary
This role is responsible for providing engineering level expertise to support customer issue escalations, conduct product performance verification testing, software testing of engineering and alpha builds to Topcon OEM customers.
Responsibilities
- Visit construction job sites to collect and analyze multiple types of sensor data to diagnose machine performance issues.
- Visit OEM customer locations to provide technical and application support during product integration development.
- Perform various types of product functional verification tests which may include; software functionality, sensor performance, and proper system functionality on construction equipment.
Qualifications
- 4 year engineering degree preferred.
- 5+ years experience in a related field.
- Basic understanding of mechanical apparatus, hydraulic systems, electronics, software applications, and system integration.
- Familiar with common signal measurement and data acquisition tools.
- Basic ability to use hand tools and assemble prototype hardware.
- Familiar with system communication bus architectures such as Ethernet, serial, and CAN.
- Basic understanding of fundamental engineering principles.
- Basic understanding of closed-loop controls, and hydraulic systems.
- Able to write concise test plans and reports.
- Some experience with operating heavy equipment desirable.
- Able to work safely on and around heavy construction equipment.
- Combination of indoor office and outdoor construction site environments.
