Summary

This role is responsible for logistics, planning and purchasing to ensure the consistency, cost-effectiveness, efficiency and adequacy of the procurement process. This key role will take responsibility for overseeing and facilitating the purchasing strategy, supervising teams of subordinate staff in purchasing, planning, and sourcing, and ensuring all staff members and processes result in meeting the KPI's of the business goals, standards and designations for work quality.

Responsibilities
  • Establishing and maintaining measurable performance metrics for all levels of procurement activities to include but not limited to supplier performance, supplier quality, internal order placement performance, buyer activity levels, and material shortage elimination.
  • Managing and mentoring a dynamic team of purchasing professionals, including hires, terms, evaluating and developing team members as well as performance management,
  • Maintaining company budget and streamlining costs.
  • Monitoring, reviewing, and analyzing quotes with suppliers, including the negotiation of service agreements and contracts.
  • Strategically develop and implement commodity/supply chain strategies covering all commodities, services and supplier processes throughout a global enterprise to deliver maximum value, leverage, and standardization.
  • Planning policies and procedures for efficiently, honestly, economically, and productively purchasing goods for supply chain production and operation.
  • Drives usage of cost models to validate commodity strategies and to understand significant cost drivers.
  • Manage material flow to ensure inventory is maintained to the optimum level to support on time customer deliveries while keeping inventory holdings at the appropriate levels.


Qualifications
  • BS in relevant field or combined work experience.
  • 10 years of relevant experience leading a supply-chain organization in a high product mix manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in managing $300m in annual global purchases.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to direct others according to company standards.
  • Critical thinker, exemplary multitasker and organizational skills, excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be advanced user of Microsoft suite,.
  • SAP super user knowledge required.
