Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Repairing, calibrating and installing our complete line of ophthalmic equipment, hands-on troubleshooting involving mechanics, electronics, optics and hydraulics either from our workshop in Calgary or at our customers premises i.e. ophthalmologists, optometrists, opticians and hospitals.
  • Providing thorough problem determination, resolve issues on a timely basis in order to meet customer expectations/service levels;
  • Accepting responsibility and accountability for customer issues and drive to timely resolution;
  • Working on products under development.


Technical Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in Electromechanics/Electrotechnics or related program;
  • Preferably, 1+ years of customer support experience.

  • Superior analytical skills demonstrating strong troubleshooting skills and problem analysis;
  • Focused on solutions, resourcefulness;
  • Capable of great meticulousness, versatility, patience and autonomy;
  • Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with customers;
  • Strong teamwork attitude;
  • Aptitude for learning new ideas/concepts and applying knowledge, desire to learn;
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities, attention to detail, self-motivated and organized;
  • High energy, enthusiasm, responsible and a drive to succeed;
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills;
  • Knowledge of optics principles is an asset;
  • Must have flexibility to provide after hours and weekend support as required;
  • Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record;
  • Be available to travel in British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan when required;
  • Must report daily to our Calgary office.
