Summary : This position will be responsible for designing load cells for use on agriculture mobile equipment. Must be able to review our customers equipment to help determine how best to implement a weighing system onto it. Performs other mechanical engineering tasks as required. Responsibilities include designing load cells to specifically meet our customers' needs. The types of load cells include: bending breams, shear breams, and compression cells. Typical applications for the Load cells are Feed Mixers, Grain charts, Manure spreaders, Balers, and Feed Bins.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and or be part of project teams including scheduling meetings and generating project status reports
- Participate in various products testing including field testing
- Ensure timely communication with customers
- Work closely with Sales to understand our customer needs
- Support sales, service, and manufacturing as needed
- Design and prototype custom products and solutions for customer applications from preliminary prototypes through customer acceptance
- Identify, estimate, plan and execute the tasks needed to develop products
- Develop solutions to satisfy customers
- Uses CAD tools to produce robust design standards
- Responsible of product release to manufacturing: Drawing construction, tooling design, process documentation.
Requirements and Skills:
- BS-mechanical engineering / Agricultural Engineering / engineering mechanics... or equivalent
- Experience in mechanical design
- Strong understanding of the electronics/circuitry utilized with Load Cells
- Knowledge of CAD tools: Solid Works preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers
- Strong multi-tasking skills
- Experience or knowledge with agricultural equipment
- Excellent team communication, writing, and organizational skills
