Cardiology Clinic RN, Medical Device

The Opportunity:

Saint Luke's Health System is look for a Clinic Nurse for their electrophysiology clinic locations. In this role, you will manage and specialize in cardiac and remedy devices and have a variety of responsibilities in various work environments. You will become a subject matter expert in various cardiac and remedy devices, round with physicians in the clinics, round with Advanced Practice Providers in the hospital at our Plaza location, and have the opportunity to work with various research projects. This position will allow you to develop long term relationships with patients as you will work with them before and after a medical devise has been implemented.

This is a unique schedule of clinic, hospital and work from home settings..

4 10 hour shifts a week starting as early as 7 AM.

No nights, No weekends, No holidays.

1 day a week, remote work from home available.

During your time in the clinics you will:

  • Perform phone triage, return patient calls, provide over the phone patient education, and discuss test results.
  • Room with physicians to help close up appointments, orders, patient education, and prepare for upcoming procedures.
  • Perform device checks, make adjustments as needed.
  • Clinics are located in Lee's Summit, Overland Park, and North Kansas City.


  • We schedule clinic time closest to your home when possible


During your time in the hospital you will:

  • Round with Advanced Practice Providers to help with discharges and patient education to sure successful recovery upon leaving the hospital.
  • Assist with device checks and make any needed adjustments.
  • Staffing promenade MRO to help keep patients safe.
  • This will always be at our Plaza location in Kansas City, MO


During your work from home days you will:

  • Pull remote summary for various devices and protocols
  • Virtual training and education

The Work:

  • Provides post procedure and device care and monitoring.
  • Coordinates hospital admissions and patient device education.
  • Perform device evaluation and interrogation of all implatable device in clinic setting for all 4 metro locations and occasional outreach locations.
  • Includes patient assessment, arrhythmia identification and device management.
  • Performs OR ED and HF device checks.


  • Reviews all lifevest tracings for SLCC and all direct referral holters, event recorders and MCOTS.
  • Coordinates discharge and follow up plan with office staff as directed by the physician and APP to ensure that patients obtain follow up visits, device checks, protime visits and other treatments or tests as needed.
  • Acts as a resource for non EP physicians and hospital nursing staff by answering questions regarding patient care, resourcing providers as needed.
  • Subject matter expert and resource regarding EKG rhythm interpretation and device related questions.
