Job Purpose:
The Sales Engineer is supporting sales and marketing teams move customers closer to the sale. This role will interact with all levels within Topcon including sales, sales management, professional services, product management and directors of each business unit. The Solutions Engineer will act as the resources for technology questions of the Topcon Health Solutions portfolio. Technology questions will be primarily around how software solutions will be integrated into customers IT infrastructure and around IT security relative to application, databases and data for on-premise as well as cloud platforms. The Sales Engineer will be the resource for presenting this technical information to customers and prospects with the intention to facilitate a smooth sales process with a solution that fits the customers' needs.
Job Duties:
- Working within the Topcon sales structure, the Sales Engineer is responsible for the technological aspects of the sales process and other general sales support activities by playing a crucial role in transitioning a prospect to a customer.
- Develop and deliver effective product demonstrations via web conference, on site meetings, at conferences and trade shows.
- Support and respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs, SOW, and other required documents when requested by customers or potential customers
- Prepare and provides product demonstration to sales and customers.
- Provide internal team and external customer training as needed Identify and communicate possible product/solution improvements to product management
Education & Experience:
- 1-3 years of customer-facing experience in support, pre-sales, sales engineering, or supporting implementations of enterprise software solutions
- Able to demonstrate Topcon products for customers.
- Experience working with IT solutions, or knowledge of DICOM, SQL, XML, HTML, HL-7, CCDs as well as and Internet protocols and security exhibits
- Experience with completing RFIs/RFPs, SOW, and other required documents when requested by customers or potential customers
- Bachelor's Degree in computer science or related discipline
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of Healthcare EMRs, EHRs, RCM systems, practice management systems, and/or population health technologies
- Understanding of PACS systems, the impact on physician workflow and patient care.
- Experience helping customers navigate problems associated with interoperability between systems.
- Deep knowledge of healthcare trends, and how Topcon products impact alternative payment models.
- Experienced leading technical demonstrations with healthcare executives and clinical leadership teams
- Excellent communication, listening, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability and eagerness to learn new technical subject matter quickly
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time
