Job Description

Functions independently and accountable for utilizing the nursing process in the EP Lab. Coordinates the care for patients with the Multidisciplinary Team. Delegates tasks appropriately. Identifies hospital resources. Serves as a clinical resource for new employees. Demonstrates positive formal or informal leadership within unit or department. Position requires multi-campus work with rotations at Saint Luke's Hospital on the Plaza and Saint Luke's Hospital in Lee's Summit.

The RN in the EP Lab circulates, scrubs and monitors EP procedures while working closely with the Cardiologist and other members of the team. Procedures performed in the EP Lab are: pacemaker implants; ICD implants; loop recorder implants; tilt table studies; electrophysiology studies and ablations for various cardiac arrhythmias; cardiac biopsies; and right heart catheterizations.

In this role you will have the opportunity to work with a nationally recognized heart team and assist with various procedures under full and mild sedation; while working with various medical professionals and disciplines during these procedures. This team uses leading technology and procedures and is passionate about continuous improvement and innovation. This is a position that varies in pace and will require a lot of attention to detail and multi-tasking skills. This is a position where you will be able to use your nursing skills and more.

To be successful as a nurse in our EP Lab, you will need to be an experienced nurse who can work autonomously and as a team. You will need to embrace the unexpected, be adaptable, and resilient. During mild sedation you will be responsible for keeping the patient comfortable throughout the procedure. Strong communication skills is necessary in this position.

We are looking for a nurse who is patient and team driven. We are looking for someone willing to go above and beyond for their patients and peers. We are seeking nurses who are always wanting to learn more and strong patient advocates. In this role you could circulate, monitor, chart, scrub and assistant with sedation as needed.

This position is Monday thru Friday with no holiday or weekend work.
