With that, we are seeking a Senior PLC Engineer to join the team!
This team member will:
- work within a multi-disciplinary team of physicists and engineers as part of collaborative sponsored research projects at the MIT Plasma Science and Fusion Center (PSFC);
- lead the development of PLC based control systems for the SPARC tokamak;
- establish I&C guidelines for use in control system development;
- establish an industrial control library composed of two layers: supervision and control (SCADA and PLC);
- ensure the design is completed in compliance with the Code of Record and established requirements;
- maintain interfaces with other engineering subsystems; and
- report on and be accountable for the standardization of PLC based control systems and report to the Head of Plant Instrumentation and Control.
The ideal candidate will have most, if not all, of these requirements:
- 5+ years working with Siemens S7-300/400 PLCs in Step 7, plus 3+ years working in Siemens S7-1500 PLCs in TIA Portal
