Job Description:
The incumbent will be responsible for the ongoing administration of a managed payroll solution which includes all activities required to produce accurate bi-weekly payroll cycles, auditing payroll output and time entry data and maintaining effective payroll processes and procedures. This individual will serve as the liaison between outsourced partners, HR and business units to ensure timely and accurate processing of US and Canadian payroll transactions.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Effective administration of established standard operating procedures and adherence to processing deadlines.
- Auditing time and attendance data, following up with management on inaccurate or irregular entries and making corrections to maintain payroll integrity.
- Approving manual calculations of wages, overtime, and deductions and applying internal controls to ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws.
- Ensuring that all payroll funding requests are delivered timely and accurately.
- Performing pre and post pay cycle audits to ensure outputs are in compliance with corporate policies and established business requirements.
- Proactively working to resolve issues to minimize the need for off-cycle transactions.
- Monitoring the successful start and completion of wage attachments such as garnishments, federal and state tax levies and child support payments.
- Overseeing tax filings and payments executed by an outsourced partner to ensure rates are maintained properly and issues are identified and resolved efficiently and effectively to minimize the risk of negative consequences.
- Auditing quarterly tax statements received from the outsourced vendor.
- Achieving a timely resolution of outstanding payroll, accounting and customer service issues.
- Providing accurate and timely responses to internal and external auditors.
- Providing timely pay cycle reconciliations to meet GL requirements.
- Producing and distributing ad hoc and standard reporting each pay cycle.
- Providing ongoing support and maintenance for HRMS and Payroll systems and processes.
- Assisting the HRMS/Payroll Manager with other duties as assigned.
